In order to enhance security at Fort Benning, changes will be made to gate
access at Sand Hill and Benning Blvd., starting on Aug 23. The Access
Control Point for Sand Hill on North Custer Road, currently is used for
outbound traffic only. Beginning Aug 23, this ACP will be closed to all
traffic, providing greater security to Patton Village residents, White
Elementary School and Sand Hill personnel. A fence will also be installed
to prohibit pedestrian traffic from this area.
In addition, access through Benning Blvd. ACP will change on the weekends to
allow for greater access, based on traffic studies. The new hours on
Saturdays and Sundays will be from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
